Road Closures on Westminster Street – From 31st October 2022

Please note: From 31st October 2022 there will be evening/night-time road closures in place on Westminster Street, Yeovil for an approximate period of 8 weeks.

The road closures will be Sunday – Friday between the hours of 6pm and 6am.

These closures are to enable South West Highways to safely undertake improvement works on Westminster Street as part of the Yeovil Refresh project.

Signage will clearly display when the road is closed, with a diversion route provided (as shown below).

Diversion route: Whilst the road closures are in place all vehicular access to Westminster Street will be closed, with vehicles required to follow the below diversion route. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

To note:

Vehicular access to Princes Street will be limited to businesses and residents only.
Businesses will remain open in line with their normal operating hours.
Emergency vehicle access will be constantly maintained.
Any residents impacted by restricted access to your property during the road closure period can park free of charge, in any Council owned Car Parks in the surrounding areas. These Car Parks include West Henford, Huish and Court Ash. Please note that you will be required to contact SWH with your registration plate information prior to parking in these car parks, to ensure you do not get fined. A bit about the works: This scheme is being delivered as part of the Yeovil Refresh project,

aiming to create a town centre that will be a vibrant place to live, work, shop, learn and visit.

The works on Westminster Street include drainage upgrades, the installation of fresh paving,

a new road surface and kerb line, new benches and soft landscaping.
